Yellow Lamp began uncertain. We never knew if there was space or want for another poetry space, but much to our surprise, it soon became a sell-out show. Month after month, we were filling the rooms, and we realised that there was space for us, and we decided to go bigger. We birthed the idea of a lit mag, called out for submissions and received a staggering 250 poems. We truly apologise for the delay, but we were unprepared for such volume. Now we have First Thursday, help host a podcast called Poetry Snaps, run Woofenberry Writers Club and have built a foundation capable of receiving that many poems. I cannot say thank you enough if you are reading this. Whether you are a writer, a supporter, or just stumbling upon us for the first time, truly, thank you. This little space wouldn’t be what it is without you. We hope you enjoy these poems and that they make you see poetry in a new light. It was unbelievable how much talent we saw in the submissions. It was one of the hardest choices ever, and if we had the budget for an anthology, then you bet we would’ve made this much bigger. The lit mag is designed to be 16 pages, and we ended up with 19 incredible poets. There isn’t much left to say that these poems aren’t going to say for themselves, so for one final time, thank you! We will see you in March for submissions for the second issue.
